How To Dress Like Serena Van Der Woodsen || Inspired

Hello upper east siders,
They say you should always be yourself and that fashion is a form of self expression and shouldn't be copied, rather created; BUT I see no harm in copying our favourite gossip girl star's style! (Please read that in gg's voice)
Most of you must be aware of my madness for gossip girl and their characters, so here I'm sharing my love for gg and fashion through looks inspired by the impeccable Serena Van Der Woodsen! For all those who haven't watched gossip girl yet or don't know who Serena is; here's what you should take notes of!
She is said to be able to pull off any piece of clothing at any given moment. Serena wears crazy prints, her brother's Oxford shirts, astounding sequins, grungy boarding school clothes, layered necklaces, designer bags and pretty much anything.
Serena is not afraid to wear something crazy if she's in love with it, can throw anything on and make it look effortlessly fabulous, and she will never leave the house without putting a unique spin on her outfit!
Her style is so prominent that when you look at some clothes you immediately say this is so SERENA! I wish I could carry it out as well as S does!
I felt the same and to change it all I did was ...
Firstly : I had pictures saved in my phone of my favourite S outfits and also the ones I could replicate being comfortable in wearing it!
Then, I simply cleared my entire wardrobe and mixed matched clothes that said SERENA! I also picked the most casual outfits worn by S first because those were the most easy to replicate, even YOU can be S! Who can't find a striped white tee or a black polo neck in any F21 stores? Ofcourse you can! It's just that you never thought of doing so, but now that you know about it RUN GIRL RUN! Serena's clothes may not always look like it, but most are very expensive designer pieces, made in luxurious fabrics and costing hundreds of dollars. Don't worry, though. It's easy to get that Serena Van Der Woodsen style and look just as fabulous for much less money! It's very simple to make that "I just threw this on" look yours!

It's not necessary to get the exact same outfit or exact same colour, you can just take elements from her style you love the most and curate your look! I found other such SVDW outfits in stores like KAZO, Forever New and online stores like KOOVS and Stalk buy love.
